Purpose: A segment to identify the party's name, address, and function.

Notes:

  

This NAD is used to identify parties to the contract (shipper, consignee etc.). Two methods of identification can be used:

Coded (C082) for message sender and receiver.

Unstructured (C058) for remainder, as often the name and address must appear exactly as set out on the Letter of Credit. This will be the most common method, especially when dealing with shipping companies.

NB: Unstructured text will appear verbatim under party headings on documents.
